Bimini Primary School Grades 1-6

Hi, my name is Lisa Grunow, or as the islanders call me "Lisa G" the artist. For the last year I have painted to raise money for a Bimini church and Bimini Primary School. All the proceeds from the paintings go to the school and a church. I became friends with Sirrisa Coyle, a fourth-grade teacher there and she brought to my attention the kids didn't have enough books and used old material, so my husband and I bought books for the fourth grade. This only impacted 20 children. THERE ARE 144 STUDENTS IN THIS SCHOOL FROM GRADES 1-6.

Yesterday a girlfriend and neighbor here at Bimini Bay, Teresa Vanderhoeven and I met the principal Terrell Hield and toured the old Catholic school which is now the Bimini Primary School. Wow is an expression we used a lot! This week we are going to make an immediate impact and clean out a room and build shelves for a library. The next step is to see if the computers on the floor need to be replaced and get estimates for air conditioners for classrooms, desks, books, and the list goes on!

Just imagine sending your child to school and there isn't air conditioning, books, computers or a library these days.

There is so much more to do and we need your donations to make a difference for these beautiful children.

$30,000 is our initial goal but every year the kids will need new books and we will continue to have fundraising events to make a difference.
