Help grieving kids in Ukraine heal from trauma
Donation protected
War hurts all children, and children who have lost a parent in battle are particularly vulnerable and require specialized care. Since 2022, the Vancouver-based Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group has operated a Rehabilitation Program for the Children of Fallen Heroes in Ukraine. The program brings grieving children to a peaceful retreat in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains for two weeks of stabilization and trauma therapy, art therapy, and extracurricular experiences that equip them with the tools they need to grow into well-adjusted adults. The program is free to the children who participate, and brings together experts from around the world. To date, we've helped 150 grieving children emotionally and psychologically stabilize, and we've done so entirely through private donations from people all over the world.
We are currently raising funds for an incredible piece of technology that can help us in this work: a NeXus-10 MKII biofeedback machine. This machine would be used for the children of fallen heroes, and would allow us to regulate the symptoms of their PTSD. It would be an absolute game-changer for these children, who will then have the tools they need to self-regulate their breathing, etc., once their time at our rehabilitation retreat has come to an end. We are raising funds until we reach our goal.
Children are the future of Ukraine. We at the Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group are committed to preserving our culture, honouring our heroes, and healing our children, and we invite you to join us in this work by supporting our effort to purchase this life-changing technology.
