Hi,

My name is Maddy- I’m Gabe Brumagin’s partner. In the summer of 2020, Gabe sustained a foot injury to a major tendon in their ankle. They went through an extremely debilitating surgery in attempts to fix it: they could not walk for the next 5-6 months, after which we found out their doctor didn’t even repair the right tendon. He carved into bone for no reason. Gabe then had to do a summer of manual wildlife labor, all the while on a doubly injured foot, in order to maintain some experience in their field.

We found a new doctor that Gabe trusted and they successfully underwent their second surgery, again being unable to walk fully for a good 4-5 months. Gabe was thankfully able to pick up part-time remote work while they were out (12 months accumulated). This was only able to cover rent, unfortunately- medical bills and overall expenses have been piling up.

If you know Gabe, you know that they are extremely active. They have been unable to run since the start of the pandemic. This combined with the financial burden of this years-long experience has seriously taken a toll on their health. A medical malpractice case is potentially on the table, but they are notoriously difficult to win.
