Bioness L300 GO System for B.

Hi People of Go Fund Me! Thank you for visiting this page and taking the time to read what it's for.
My name is Brenda, and I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a toddler. I had hamstring and heel cord releases, used various orthoses, a walker, a wheelchair for distances, and canes. Throughout my adolescence I ambulated completely independent of these devices until undergoing surgical orthopedic reconstruction of foot deformities caused by spasticity and abnormal gait in 2015 and 2017. The operations greatly improved my gait, but in time I have relapsed with foot drop and am experiencing increased pain and weakness and overall worsened mobility.
Since 2021 I have started wearing braces and using a walker again, began receiving Botox injections and will receive an intrathecal baclofen trial in April or May. Last year I also started physical therapy again, some of which you can see in the video that my boyfriend was lovely enough to put together for this campaign. My therapist suggested we try the Bioness L300 GO system. This functional electric stimulation device sits under the shin and targets the muscles necessary to take a proper heel-to-toe step. The forced stimulation also helps build strength that otherwise would not be due to impairment of natural muscle exercise.
The cost of the system is $8,375 each (meaning one cuff per leg), but has been discounted to $3,500 each with financial hardship approval. Each device comes with a 2-month supply of electrodes, which are recommended to be changed every 2 weeks. A one year supply of electrodes can be purchased in bulk for a discounted price of $260 each. The total cost for a system and year supply of electrodes for each leg is $7,520. My goal is to raise $8,000 to account for fees and any additional purchases to accommodate the devices (such as clothing, since the cuff needs to sit on my skin, and other unexpected costs that might arise as I get to know the system).
Thank you again in advance for your time and consideration for this effort. I hope you enjoy the video Pep put together.
Love,
B.
