Bindi's Funding for her Supervet Op
Bindi was born with a birth defect in both of her paws. The defect is called Ectrodactyly, her one paw has two long fingers that bend backwards and cause her pain, they bend right back and can catch on things, the leg that this is on is significantly shorter than the other. Her other paw has an extra digit that sticks out on the side. The operation to correct this is going to cost £7500. Bindi's Condition is not covered by insurance as it is a birth defect.
This causes Bindi pain, she is so young, only 5 months old, we wonder what the future holds for her. She is such a good little girl who loves to play with the other Dachshunds but I can see her limping and in so much pain she needs this corrective surgery as she could suffer in the future with Arthritis and we have to remember these are her front paws, Dachshunds don't do well without front legs.
Bindi has been lucky enough to be refered to Noel Fitzpatrick (The Supervet) She had an appointment on the 11th February and was filmed by the crew. they have asked if they can do a follow up with her. Noel said he wants to amputate the one paw and build her a bionic paw. This is going to cost £7500 then she will need Physio and Hydrotherapy after her operation.
