Birth of Flowers: A Horror Anthology
Birth of Flowers: A Horror Anthology
About Me
Hi, my name is Brandon Hadnot, and I'm a Filmmaker and Artist based in the Orlando, FL area. I'm originally from Milwaukee, WI where my love for film began at a young age. My current goal is to make a series of Horror short films based on the short stories that I and a few other talented Writers wrote during the pandemic. One of my biggest challenges in creative projects is asking for financial support, but as anyone who has tried to make a movie will tell you, they can cost a lot of money to produce. Solid direction, crews, equipment, and talent help mere ideas for movies jump from the script to the screen. So, my plan is to raise money in order to fund a COVID-safe production that pays for my cast, a skeleton crew, writers, locations, equipment, and props.
What type of Horror Am I Making?
Sci-Fi/Horror Anthology. I've always been a fan of anthologies because of their capacity for variety and their ability to expose you to short, but powerful stories that stick with you for a very long time. It's a deep passion of mine to tell original stories like these through the lens and especially have them be centered on Black characters and People of Color. I ultimately want to deliver six incredibly entertaining and unsettling episodes that have a 5-15 minute runtime each. However, I believe in attainable goals, so the focus with this fundraiser, in particular, is to get one episode off of the ground.
Why?
While the amount of these types of productions are on the rise, there's still just simply not enough of them that truly scratch the itch that I personally have with seeing us represented in great horror stories. I want to make the movies that I've always wanted to see, and hopefully, scratch that itch for the people like me who are still excitedly waiting. The vision is to have a successful, well-produced series to show that amazing Horror stories are still alive and well if you dare to not only look but invest in Black Filmmakers and diverse projects.
When?
The goal is to deliver episode one by October 2021, with the others to complete the series being completed by March 2022.
How?
With the proper budget, we'll be able to tell the stories at the level of quality we've planned using professional equipment coupled with the skill of the team. The budget will go entirely to paying for the cast, crew, locations, and equipment.
