Birthday Fundraiser for my fav Sri Lankan kids
Donation protected
Hi loves,
A couple months ago, I started thinking about what kind of gift would be the most meaningful and valuable to me. I realized I’d most appreciate bringing gifts & experiences from my friends & family to my favourite kids in Sri Lanka. Something about connecting the people I care about from very different parts of my life feels warm. So if you had planned to get me anything for my birthday this year, i'd most appreciate this :)
Before my initial trip in May 2022, I wanted to be careful about selecting a volunteer organization that didn't take advantage of its community, and genuinely supported the community needs. I googled ethical non-profits and used a Forbes list to find a global charity matchmaking organization that matched me with a volunteer organization in Sri Lanka.
The fundraiser will cover only gifts & experiences used directly by the kids (not any of my expenses). I'll use the $$ to buy items from this list in Sri Lanka, then take a photo of the kids using the gift or experience and share it with you :) Feel free to specify how you want your $$ used!

**I'm most excited for this one - all 25 of the kids in the community have never left their town in the interior of Sri Lanka 'Katugastota'. We're going to a beach resort town popular for it's huge turtles, 4 hours away. They've never seen large bodies of water, gone to a restaurant, or had a field trip so I'm absolutely brimming for this one
