Birthday Wish: Save Lives in the Slums of Myanmar
Tax deductible
Three years ago, on a humanitarian trip with my non-profit Cause & Affect Foundation , I traveled to Yangon, the capital of Myanmar (also known as Burma) to assist an incredible local organization that is assisting the impoverished residents of a slum in the city.
I was appalled to see the sub-human conditions of the residents there, but was quite heartened to see the amazing work of "Community Care of Myanmar" (CCM) which has been providing medical assistance and educational opportunities to the people there. Many of the residents are refugees from Cyclone Nargis that ravaged the country in 2008, sending thousands of people to seek shelter in the city. Without government assistance, most were left without any work or schooling, and they ended up in these slums as a result.
I witnessed firsthand how CCM is not only saving lives, but providing the residents with dignity to lead productive lives and hope for a brighter future.
I have partnered up with 100 Friends , which is a grassroots charity serving the needy in various Asian countries. 100 Friends is run by my mentor Marc Gold and can easily deliver 100% of the funds to CCM, as they have sponsored their programs for several years.
Your generous contribution will go towards:
- Purchasing medicine for people unable to afford the most basic medical care
- Helping run two schools that serve children that are unable to attend public schools
- Assist their foster home for children in at-risk families
[100 Friends is a 501-c-3 charity (EIN #26-0256270) with tax-deductible status from US government, so I can have a letter confirming American residents' tax-deductible donation.)
Please help me achieve my birthday wish of providing life-saving assistance to these wonderful people. Spread the word - spread the love!!!
