In March 2017, a landslide at the Koshe landfill site caused the deaths of 115 people who lived on this site, eking out a living from whatever they could find amongst the rubbish. Biruh Tesfa Primary School serves the local area and lost 20 students to the disaster, as well as 1 teacher and her entire family.
In summer 2017, following a visit to the school and identifying one of the biggest challenges they faced - lack of a dining hall, which forces students to eat what meals they do get outside, come rain or shine - the project to get the dining hall built was kicked off.
So far with people's generous donations and support, we have been able to finish 1/3 of construction - however in order to finish the building, furnish it and make it usable not just for students but for the wider community, we need your support to raise the remaining amount and get the project completed.
Let's join hand in hand to make a practical difference for the next generation!

በመጋቢት 2009 ዓም በአዲስ አበባ በተለምዶ ቆሼ ተብሎ በሚጠራው አካባቢ በተፈጠረው የቆሻሻ ክምር መደርመስ ምክንያት የ115 በአካባቢው የሚኖሩና እንዲሁም የእለት ጉርሳቸው ከቆሻሻው ላይ ለመልቀም በቆሻሻ ክምር ላይ የነበሩት ወገኖቻችን ህይወት እንደቀጠፈ የቅርብ ጊዜ ትውስታችን ነው። የብሩህ ተስፋ ትምህርት ቤትም በአካባቢው ብቸኛ ትም/ቤት ሲሆን በአደጋው ወደ 20 ተማሪዎች እና አንድ መምህርት ከነ ሙሉ ቤተሰብዋ በዚሁ አደጋ ተነጥቀናል።
በተመሳሳይ በ2009 ዓም ትምህርት ቤቱን በመጎብኘት ተማሪዎች የመመገቢያ ቦታ መቸገራቸዉ እንዲሁም ተማሪዎች በምሳ ሰዓት ዉጪ ቁጭ ብለዉ ፀሀይ እና ዝናብ እየተፈራረቀባቸዉ እንደሚመገቡ ለመረዳ ችለናል። ይህንንም በመገንዘብ ኢትዮጵያውያን በማስተባበር ሊገነባ የታቀደው የመመገቢያ አዳራሽ ግንባታው ተጀምሯል።
እስካሁን ድረስ ማህበረሰቡ ባደረገው ድጋፍና እርዳታ መሰረት ለተማሪዎች ሊሰራ ከታቀደው የመመገቢያ አዳራሽ ዉስጥ 1/3 ተጠናቋል። ነገር ግን የመመገቢያ አዳራሽ ሙሉ ለሙሉ ግንባታው ለማጠናቀቅ እንዲሁም ለተማሪዎችና ለአካባቢዉ ማህበረሰብ ምቹ ተደርጎ ተሰርቶ እንዲጠናቀቅ የእናንተን እርዳታ እንሻለን። ዉድ የሀገሬ ልጆች መልካም ነገር ሰርተን እንለፍ።
