Bishop Rachel Sommerville's Funeral

My beautiful, precious, kind-hearted mother Rachel Sommerville passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019  after battling cancer.  For those of you who know me,  my mother was my world! After losing my father in 2009 to the same battle, she was literally everything to me. I, along with family and friends, have stood by her side each step of the way. From chemotherapy to emergency surgeries, to rehabilitation and hospitalizations, she fought hard and remained strong in her faith. 

Rachel was more than just my mom. She was a wife, sister, friend, and pastor who loved all those she encountered. She had a heart for people and made herself available to help those in need. She devoted herself not only to her church in kingston, but the ministries she founded in Florida, Africa, and Jamaica. She was a woman who would take you in if you needed a place to stay, take the clothes off her back to give to a stranger, and take food out of her own home to make sure families were fed. She loved traveling and going on missionary trips to help the poor and less fortunate. One of her biggest dreams that she always talked about was to be able to go to Africa and help feed the children. By God's grace, this dream became a reality in 2016.


All donations made will be used for funeral expenses. Anything that you can give will be helpful.
