From the family: "Our beautiful, sensitive little boy Paul sustained a severe and permanent injury to his left hand that will change the way he interacts physically with the world. We are devastated at the seeming randomness of this trauma, and Kortnee and I are in the midst of processing it all. Thank you so much for your messages of support and encouragement. We couldn’t be more grateful for this community.

Paul lost two of his fingers in this accident, and currently, we are holding on to the hope that he will retain the use of the two he has remaining as well as his thumb. Surgeries in the coming days will try to keep his remaining hand tissues viable and free from infection. After this phase, he will be facing multiple reconstructive surgeries over weeks, months, and years to repair the bones, tendons, vessels, and nerves in his hand. Only time will tell what his outcomes will be, but we are overwhelmed by the kindness, professionalism, and sensitivity of his care."

Paul is a cool kid who loves gaming (especially Fornite), soccer, and swimming. Paul just started 3rd grade and has a positive outlook about his serious injury.
