Hi Everyone,
On the 14th of Feb this year, Björn was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare type of Bone Cancer. It's devastating for him and for his family. We are reaching out for support to help fund Bjorn's implant and save his leg.
The tumour has caused extensive deterioration and the bone has fractured requiring a full leg cast to reduce the risk of further damage. He will need limb-salvage surgery followed by further chemotherapy, or his leg will be amputated.
The cost for a prosthesis implant in his leg in Hong Kong is $350,000HKD ($60k AUD/£35k GBP). This is an urgent surgery to save Björn's leg and give Björn the best chance of beating cancer, walking freely again and getting back involved with the things he loves as a teenager, to the best extent that will be possible.
The family have had an outpouring of emotional support for Björn and his family are very grateful as every message of hope and support helps day to day. With this fundraiser we hope that your support will help raise funds to save Björn’s leg so he can be a kid again.
Björn is a sweet, caring, active and sports loving boy who loves play football daily with his friends and has been involved in coaching football with kids and supporting his community. As a very active kid, this has been his life and brought a lot of joy and sense of achievement at the start of this teenage years. Even if you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this story and spreading the word to help a lovely, young boy with his battle with cancer.
Gratefully yours,
