We can all give HOPE & Elevate Refugee Children
The Tigrayan refugee children in Sudan have witnessed violence, hunger, and destruction. For these children who have gone through very traumatic experiences, daily life has been challenging. Every day is a struggle and these children are thinking about if they will ever be returning home, having the next meal or if there will ever be a proper school for them in the near future.
It has been over two years since their life has been disrupted because of the war in Ethiopia. Although the numbers are estimated to be higher, “UNHCR estimates that nearly 60,000 Ethiopian refugees have fled to eastern Sudan since the conflict began in Ethiopia’s Tigray region in November 2020." https://www.unrefugees.org/emergencies/ethiopia/
War is devastating, especially for children. Many young boys and girls are separated from or lost their families to this war and have become victims of sexual violence. https://www.unhcr.org/en-us/news/stories/2022/4/625580884/mixed-emotions-family-partially-reunited-fleeing-tigray-conflict.html. These children have been going through very traumatic experiences.
International Society for Better Health Access (ISBHA) https://isbha.com/ has been doing incredible work helping refugees in Sudan and recently opened a school for the refugee children inside the refugee camp https://isbha.com/2022/11/03/elementray-school/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvPKXKCvGsw.
Education is fundamental not only to learning/gaining knowledge and skills, but also instills hope and helps children aspire/dream for a better future.
With your kind contribution to their school supplies and dignity kit to young girls, you give hope and elevate these refugee children.
We can all give hope and make a difference. Big thank you for your generosity! ICAN Elevate Tigray Initiative
