Aspiring Fashion Designer

When I was younger, I always told my family I want to be a fashion designer and a doctor. Everyone always told me I can't do both and my family steered me more down the doctor path. I pretty much passed off fashion designing as a childhood dream. Like what girl doesn't want to be a fashion designer as a kid? Over the years I still had the itch for designing/ sewing and I would make little dresses for different occasions. I began to think about starting my own business for years. Then one day during my freshman year of college, I had about $50 left to my name and I decided to take a risk and spend it on some fabric, and with that fabric I made a prom dress. Since then I've slowly been making moves towards expanding my little idea of a business from making prom dresses then on to making collections of things I designed, and now I have a very big opportunity for me and my business. I was accepted to be apart of the Small Boutique fashion show during New York Fashion Week and I feel like I can't let this opportunity pass. Because my family does not want me going down this path (specifically my mom) they (she) has decided not to support me in this experience and I was relying on her financially to help me but now it's all left up to me. I made some money from making prom dresses but I put all that money right back into my business with buying fabric and other things so now I need help. I have to send in a $650 registration fee by Friday the 25th and I need to get fabric for the show ASAP so I can start working on my designs. I can't stop now and I have to do whatever it takes to get there so any little bit will help me fulfill my dreams❤️
