Black Arts for Black Lives is a benefit showcase that utilizes talents (singing, spoken word, acting, & more!) from contemporary black performers to celebrate and discuss living in America as a black person. We have come together over the civil unrest in our country surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement to help shine a light on why Black Lives Matter and give back to BIPOC-run community organizations.
Who are we doing this for?
We are raising money for three charities that are integral to the communities that they are a part of:
My Block, My Hood, My City
-Providing opportunities for underprivileged youth to engage in activities outside of their communities.
Dandelions Are Flowers Too
-Cultivating positive learning environments for students in order to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline.
Drama Club NYC.
-Offering theatrical outlets and mentorship to youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
Feel free to peruse the websites for these incredible organizations!
When and where are we doing this?
The show will take place at 6:00pm on August 16th.
The link to the show will be sent on the 16th to all donators via email and will remain active until the 23rd.
Your donation is your ticket!
Come and share in an evening that celebrates Black lives and voices through artistry!
This showcase is in affiliation with Forest Hills Presbyterian Church.
