UPDATE 2: Someone has called in to claim ownership of her!! They're coming in tomorrow to meet with Hawthorne.

UPDATE: I have just received a call from Hawthorne Animal Hospital. There will be a 10-day waiting period for the owner to come forward and assume responsibility for the dog. Whether or not the owner comes forward, I plan to donate all of the money toward the dog's surgery. Thank you so much.

Hi, my name is Benny and on my way to work this morning, I saw a dog that was limping on the shoulder of I-70. I stopped and was shocked with the amount of blood around her legs. I called 911 and they told me that someone was en route. I waited a half hour before I got sick to my stomach and took her to the animal hospital myself. They told me that I needed to assume ownership in order for them to work on the dog. After getting sedated and X-rayed, they told me that her left hind leg was snapped and her right hip isn’t in place. We’re waiting 24 hours in case the owner calls in, but if they don’t then I’m financially responsible for her. They say it’s going to cost probably between $3,000-$5,000. Anything, absolutely anything would help.
