Black Homeschool Curriculum Materials Needed!
Donation protected
My youngest 3 kids are currently attending lackluster Bronx public schools and I am planning to begin homeschooling them in February. They have a variety of learning disabilities so I am creating an individualized black curriculum with hands on materials for each one and am looking to raise money for those materials.
I will be using Saxon math for each and supplementing with Spectrum. My middle son has severe dyslexia and will be needing assistive tech like an electronic pen to verbalize text. We will be using the “Who is” series on Negro Leagues, Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth for Social Studies. In science, the focus will be biology, genetics and introduction to body systems. For language arts they will be exposed to a variety of black diasporic texts and writing exercises. I will also hire tutors to work with them on executive functioning and organization. For extracurricular activities they will participate in carpentry and gardening.
Any contributions for material costs are greatly appreciated.
