White Remedy Film Production

My name is Kimberly Joseph and I am a senior at Towson University in the Electronic Media and Film Department. I am raising funds for my short film "White Remedy." It is about a young girl named Regina, who is a drug dealer, struggling with the morality of her occupation and hiding it from her police officer brother.


I have been inspired by the social call to action that has risen up around the lack of healthcare the opioid epidemic has unveiled. I am very passionate about using film as a mirror to the issues of the world at large. In our communities, people serve extreme prison sentences for nonviolent drug crimes despite the damage big pharmaceutical companies cause.  


I'm working with a very talented team. They are Edmund Savage (Producer), Lela Brown (Assistant Director and Editor), and Jennifer Varriale (Director of Photography). I am very humbled to be working with such a passionate group of people; they are turning this experience into one of the best of my life! 


We're currently in the process of casting and finding locations for our project.
We're slated to shoot November 7th-November 13th and need to start raising money as soon as possible.


It truly takes a village to make a film, and the message of this film applies to anyone who has felt the effects of addiction in their family. This film is our senior thesis film at Towson University and is a culmination of everything we’ve learned during our time as students. There are many resources that we need to produce this story. Namely securing our locations, funding our art department, renting and ensuring our equipment and feeding our crew.
