Black Lives Matter Walk Fund
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Black Lives Matter Seattle King County through the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle , and any donation will help make an impact.
When the COVID-19 Quarantine began in March, I could walk one lap, or about .3 miles, around the park using my crutches. Each day I walked at the park for exercise and on June 13th I walked the Seattle Children's March, or .8 miles. I decided I would walk a marathon to raise money for Black Lives Matter. I am inspired by Capt. Tom Moore and Tobias Weller in England, both who raised money by walking with assistive devices. I want to make a difference about the inequality Black people face in our nation. Each day I am walking 1 mile at a local park or track until I reach 26.2 miles.
I want to raise money for Black Lives Matter because it focuses on civil rights and will not give up until equality is achieved. I want to support everybody who is Black because we are in this together. I understand that even though I have cerebral palsy, I still have more privilege than Black children do. Because of the recent killings in the news, I also understand that being Black can be dangerous when the police are involved. This is not fair or right. I want to help fight for change.
