Black Panther 100 Cincy Youth
Donation protected
❗️Black Panther 100 Cincy Youth ❗️
The purpose of this campaign is to send up to 100 youth, from under served communities, in the Cincinnati area,
to see the movie, Black Panther on February 19th.
Update (Feb. 9th): Our new goal is to accommodate 80 youth in a theatre that seats 88 people instead of 141 people. Based on the amount donated so far, our change in the budget is to ensure we can accommodate as many kids as possible given the respective deadline to donate.
- Story -
I saw a post by Viola Davis participating in the #BlackPantherChallenge to send 200 students in Austin, Texas to see the movie. I asked friends and family on Facebook if anyone was implementing anything similar in the Cincinnati area. I mentioned I wanted to donate and indicated we need to make this happen. Two likes and 0 responses later I realized I had to do more than just donate and instead create and implement the change I wanted to see.
I am targeting youth in underserved communities whose families may not be able to financially send their kid(s) to the movies to partake in this experience. You never know how exposure and representation can shift our young one’s mindsets and offer hope for their future. It is our job as a community to create, build, and support opportunities and each other especially if it will have a positive impact on our youth and their future.
All proceeds will be used to pay for movie tickets, movie-related costs, and transportation.
I appreciate your support and so will our kids ❤️
Let’s make it happen ✊
