Black Panther Party Member Needs Our Help

I'm Attorney Beilal Chatila, from Berkeley, CA. A few years ago, I met an elderly gentleman who goes by "Buffalo", an extremely intelligent, caring and conscientious community advocate. I kept in touch with Buffalo for a couple years after meeting him, and sat with him on multiple occasions before finding out that he was homeless. When it was brought to my attention that Buffalo was without shelter, about 9 months ago, I welcomed him into a space that I was the leaseholder for. He has lived in good spirits there since then, but my lease is up at the end of this month, and I really need help finding and funding an apartment for him--or ideally, purchasing a home for him. Buffalo receives about 700/month in government aid, but he spends $480 of that per month on a storage unit, where he has preserved thousands of important documents and other memorabilia related to the Black Panther Party. It was shocking to find out that he spends more than half of all the money he receives in an effort to preserve such important history--but this is who Buffalo is--he puts everyone before himself and is willing to sacrifice so much for the liberation of those who are oppressed. Buffalo's only goal at this stage in his life is to pass on wisdom and valuable insight to the next generation of community advocates. He has been working on a detailed memoir in hopes of getting it published one day; but I know he is not going to be able to complete it in a meaningful way until he has peace of mind.
