Black Trans COVID Supplies & Donation Funds
Donation protected
Hello!
Due to the recent events, we are fund raising for black trans people in the Philadelphia area. We are a all queer and trans household and the majority of us are black and trans living in Philadelphia. Many times when a epidemic hits black trans people are the LAST to receive help and resources due to the fact that they experience not only discrimination because of them being trans but also because of them being black in a world full of white supremacy. We understand times are incredibly hard and many of us cannot travel right now due to the state of the world. We aim to raise $2000 dollars so we can donate the following to as many black trans people in the city as possible.
Listed below is what we are accepting for donations. Every donation received will be thoroughly cleaned before being delivered to someone who needs it.
What we are accepting as far as donations:
- Latex Gloves
- Non-Latex Gloves (For those with allergies to latex)
- Masks
- Lysol Wipes (For everday cleaning)
- Band-aids
- Phone Chargers (Andriod & Iphone)
- Alchol prep pads
- First aid kits
- Soap
- Toothpaste/Toothbrushes/Toothcaps
- Body Lotion
- Chapstick
- Shavers & shaving cream
- Afro pics, hair brushes & hair ties
- Tampons
- Wipes
- Wash rags
- Bottled Water
- Lozenges
- First Aid Kits
We are also looking for food donations and those who are able to drive and drop off to locations! We have already donated to a few people in the Philadelphia area but we would like to continue to do so with your help!
We are looking to donate to ATLEAST 100 Black trans people in need centering Black trans femmes and those with disabilities.
With 2000 dollars we can make this all possible however the more money we receive means more supplies goes directly back into the hands of a black trans person.
Please remember, without people such as Marsha P Johnson or Miss Major, both black trans women who broke down barriers and made mass change for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community, without them we would not have community. Without black trans women we would not be able to celebrate like we can today. Things are still incredibly difficult for people in this particular community.
With your donation we can continue to do the work that is necessary to keep resources flowing into the hands of black trans people.
