Black Trans Lives Matter - UK Support
Hello Friends and Community,
I'm glad that you've landed here. I am Chris (some may know me in my role as Director of Community Engagement for Pride in London) or others from Twittersphere @441_man.
This is my message with its goal and your help is needed!
We cannot let our Black Trans Brothers & Sisters be pushed further beyond the boundaries of marginalization. Therefore today, I am opening up a fundraiser to seed the foundation of a support organisation that will fight to protect black trans people in London.
Let’s help to eradicate their systemic challenges with:
- harassment and discrimination at university
- bullying and discrimination at work
- experiences of hate crimes or incidents because of their gender identity
- poor treatment when accessing healthcare services
- lack of support from their families and the high risk of experiencing homelessness domestic abuse
and isolation
- cultural marginalization & invisibility
It is a known fact that black trans women are dying at an alarming rate as a result of the epidemic of violence that they face. We need to do whatever we can to protect them. Black Trans people deserve the opportunity and right to full and equal participation in society
Black Trans women like Marsha P. Johnson exponentially blazed a path for us all to walk.
Over the past few days we have seen the injustices inflicted on black people and we have rallied to #BlackLivesMatter. Black Trans people have not been immune from the injustices of the police, and will take necessary precautions to avoid any interaction with them because they fear harassment, intimidation, incarceration or violence. We have to realize that #AllBlackLivesMatter and therefore be bold in vocalising and including #BlackTransLivesMatter.
Let’s take this collective moment of furore and brokenheartedness to put resources into protecting, respecting, loving and validating Black Trans people.
We aim to establish:
- Peer to Peer Support
- Online Outreach
- Telephone Support
- Digital Education
- Creation of safe spaces
- Elevation of black transgender voices
- Community Ally program
- Hardship Fund
Donate today to help protect BLACK TRANS PEOPLE.

The funding goal has been increased because we have been overwhelmed with request for financial support from our yet established 'Hardship Fund'. We ask you to continue supporting.
