Blackmans Bay Primary School Mural.
Donation protected
We have an opportunity to make a mural at Blackmans Bay Primary School of Yellow-tailed Black cockatoos, Swift Parrots and Forty Spotted Pardalote.
Using the theme of 'play' to educate, beautify and add value to the school.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
To Make Blackmans Bay Primary School Look Better
This project will add beauty to the school, help people feel good and create an inspiring place to learn. This is an incredible opportunity to turn blank walls into beautiful art.
For Education
The mural is also about doing important education about local endangered species and the vital habitat that Blackmans Bay provides to keep them from going extinct.
To Build Pride For the School
If we can add this beauty it will bring pride to the school. a creative and beautiful piece of art has the potential to change angry or sad attitudes to more positive attitudes. this mural would soften the environment, it would add value to the school and it will make everyone happier.
OTHER BENEFITS FOR OUR SCHOOL
Art Lessons and an Amazing Role Model
Dr Jamin will be able to teach the students basics of spray painting and other art lessons. He is a well recognised artist with a PhD in fine art, who will make a fantastic role model for future artists. He is very successful and has made a wonderful life from his considered practice. his message of making an honest and successful life out of spray paints is an important one.
Whole School Learning
The Kingborough council has agreed to provide talks to the school about habitat, the important trees in the area and how the bird species in the murals use the habitat. These lessons will be tailored to Blackmans Bay primary school and will have art, biology and science components that all speak to our local endangered species, our responsibility to create and protect their habitat.

WHO IS THE ARTIST?
Jamin is a very in demand artist, creating entire spaces over weeks in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, bringing the plight of the swift parrot to the side of huge corporate buildings and running workshops bringing the young and old together in projects that allow access to graffiti through community projects.
He is a multi-award-winning graffiti artist. HE HAS A PHD IN FINE ART.
A finalist for the Glover Prize, exhibited at the Biennale of Australian Art.
A PHD in one hand, a spray can in the other - DR Jamin is a very rare breed indeed.
