Blackmores Group employees' COVID appeal
Blackmores Group will match all employee donations for COVID-19 relief efforts in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia made via this GoFundMe page until 31 August 2021*.
Our hearts go out to our employees, consumers and communities impacted by the pandemic and our concern is for everyone's health and wellbeing. We are thinking of those in need during this difficult time.
Hospitals are overwhelmed and medical supplies are urgently required. Hundreds of thousands of people urgently need our help from providing essentials medical supplies to providing relief kits. While vaccination is slowing down the pandemic in some countries, income has vanished and people are in desperate need of help.
Blackmores Group has already donated $25,000 to COVID relief efforts and will further match your donations made via this Go Fund Me campaign*.
The final amount raised will be split across the following organisations providing COVID relief in their local communities.
India - over 31.5 million confirmed cases and more than 420,000 deaths**
CARE Australia, through the COVID campaign being led by our Blackmores Institute pharmacy educator Bobby Mehta. CARE is providing essentials such as hospital beds, oxygen, vaccination, PPE and sanitation on the ground.
Indonesia – over 3.4 million confirmed cases and more than 92,000 deaths**
FoodCycle Indonesia and Blackmores Indonesia have teamed up to provide emergency food relief through the Blackmores Aksi Peduli COVID Relief Program.
Malaysia – over a million confirmed cases and more than 9,000 deaths**
Project Kindness is a long-term initiative of Blackmores Malaysia that supports the poor, the homeless and the hungry. Your donation will hhelp buy essential groceries for families in need.
Thailand – over 580,000 confirmed cases and more than 4,700 deaths**
- AustCham Thailand is providing care packages of essential food, daily necessities and medical products to those with COVID and in quarantine without proper access to basic needs.
- Ramathibodi Foundation, set up by the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, is buying essential medical equipment including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), endotracheal intubation tools, mobile ultrasound machines, coronary blood flow monitoring equipment and novel coronavirus protective gear.
Australia – over 34,000 confirmed cases and 922 deaths**
Blackmores Australia supports many mental health initiatives. Our Go Fund Me initiative will focus on the Rotary Club of Australia’s “Lift the Lid on Mental Illness” annual fundraising campaign in supporting the mental wellbeing of Australians.
