Help a Muslim Mom relocate for safety

Asalaamu walaikum. I am raising money on behalf of a sister I know well who I am keeping anonymous for her protection and her children's. This money will go toward relocating her to a new home, helping with bills/car/phone, and money for groceries until she is able to land steady employment again.

Last month, this sister from my community had an aggressive altercation with her spouse to which she asked for him to leave and for a divorce. After much resistance, phone calls, and the sister having to leave her home for her safety, the husband left. However, due to sharing a child, the sister’s boundaries have not been met and the spouse has shown up, many times unannounced claiming to be there for the child. Unfortunately, she also lost her job during this time of dealing with the stress and worry of her situation. Thus shifting her main source of income to be able to make any necessary moves, including retaining an attorney to help with moving forward with her divorce.

As we have seen in the past few months with Sania Khan, Sadia Manzoor, Alwiya Mohamed, and so many Muslim women that have been met with fatal violence by spouses, we are looking to save this sister. In situations like this, we cannot afford to take lightly and presume to believe that everything will just work itself out with time and prayer. This sister needs community and through community, she needs money to put herself in a better position.
