Blackpool Emergency Rough Sleeper Overflow Fund
The Emergency Bed unit at Blackpool Housing Options ran by the Blackpool Wyre nd Fylde street angels is full of people on the emergency housing list and can't accommodate any more tenants - the chap pictured above is left out on the street for the night in these conditions.
Mark Butcher Homelessness campaigner has pledged to put this young man up using some funds from Amazing Graze which is an independent charity in Blackpool. Amazing Graze have pledged to house ALL rough sleepers in temporary accommodation over the Christmas and new year week but it's clear that much more help is needed and the council are struggling to meet the demand in the local area.
This page is linked directly to Amazing Graze and i am facilitating this as a media volunteer for the organisation.
Please spare what little you can to help put up all those who are sleeping rough on the streets of Blackpool - not just tonight but for as long as is required to help them mend and return to society.
In under 2 weeks we will be moving into the year 2020 and we are still facing a homelessness epidemic. The council have counted 15 people sleeping rough in Blackpool but United Blackpool tonight served 23 people who were out on the streets in need of food and support. Something's not quite right and we need help to fix it.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit AMAZING GRAZE, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
