Yes, it's true. We have been shutdown again and this time around my staff really has no financial life line. Hopefully it is only 3 weeks, but it's 3 crucial weeks!! Heading into the holidays. Our staff works so hard to provide a great service to each and every guest that we have in our building. This couldn't have a come at worse time. Most of our staff literally lives paycheck to paycheck. Supporting their families and their growing lives.
Unfortunately, being a downtown business we have found that opening up just for carryout usually costs us more than if we were to shut down and tighten up. As a business we haven't came close to recovering from the previous shutdown. Thus it has been necessary to temporarily close during this time.
We have 9 waitstaff that we have relied on heavily during this year, and they rely heavily on our business to support their lives.
I have estimated that each team member (family) will lose a average of $300 a week in tips, or more.
So I used the formula of 9 team members, X's $300 a week, X's 3 weeks. Resulting in a hopeful and lofty goal of $8100 for these wonderful people. Each and every cent will get distributed amongst them to help them pay their bills and put food on the table. If you are in a position to help, please consider helping one of your neighbors in a simplistic way. Every little bit will help.
We look forward to seeing you and taking great care of you in the future!!
Thank you!
