Helping Blaine Edwards Recover from Rollover Crash
Donation protected
Hello my name is Lyndsie and I am Blaine Edwards partner and caretaker.
Blaine grew up and graduated in Austin, MN and is a 9 year US Army Veteran that was on his way to work in Rochester early (5am) Tuesday 12/5/23 when he rolled his truck multiple times on icy I-90. He went into respiratory failure from a collapsed lung and was on full breathing support for multiple days, has suffered a severe concussion (bad enough to be classified as mild traumatic brain injury), and many broken bones. This will be a long road of recovery. I made this fundraiser to help him keep up with his bills and to help with his medical bills when he gets home from the ICU at Saint Marys.
Anything will help us get through the months to come and is so graciously appreciated.
UPDATE 12/12: Blaine had surgery on his shattered collarbone yesterday. The surgery went smoothly but we also confirmed that he has fractures in the sacral area of his pelvis which has caused him to still be unable to walk. He is also still affected by his concussion/ TBI. He has however made it home now and is spending his days resting. Thank you all so much for your love and support through this life changing experience.
1/2/24 Update: Blaine is slowly becoming able to move a little bit but is still bound to a wheelchair and has to sleep a recliner chair as his pelvis is preventing him from walking properly and sleeping in bed because it makes him feel "like a crushed pop can" ( his words haha, it's great to see his sense of humor is coming back) but is heartbreaking that now that he's home and off of all of the strong painkillers the hospital was providing, he's in more pain now than ever. Multiple baths in epsom salt per day and getting him up and moving in the walker periodically, along with lots of TLC and nourishment are what's working best for him to stay as comfortable as possible right now.
