Many of you have followed Christina and Robert Okesson's story for the last few years and reached out to all of us asking how you can help. First, the prayers, support, and love you have offered has lifted the family and Blair in ways you will never know. We cannot thank you enough. This story is being written by God and only He knows. Christina and Robert are staying in Jacksonville to be with Blair every step of the way and returning home to see their daughter in Palatka as often as they can. As you can imagine, there are expenses with this as well as future costs that are not known yet. Any amount, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Blair Bear is their miracle! Please continue to pray as we KNOW the power that has. This support would lessen their burden and allow them to focus on their family. We all love them and appreciate the support they have received in our wonderful small town. Donate if you can, pray if you feel led, and share this if you can. God is good!!!
Here are Christina's words:
"This is not the way we intended the announcement of our little guys arrival to go. But, we know there are a lot of you worried and wondering what is going on. I will save the full and very traumatic story for another day, as this is a very delicate yet difficult time for us. There was a point in labor where Blair was in distress and I had to be placed under full anesthesia for an emergency cesarean, and Blair was born lifeless. They were able to resuscitate him within 2 minutes, and later we were told has HIE. He was flown to a different hospital where he has been on cooling therapy since Friday. And I was stuck at my hospital until Sunday afternoon. He started his warming transition today and will go through the night. And then we await a brain MRI at the end of the week for a more definite answer whether there is long term damage or no damage at all. At this time we do not have pictures that we would like to share because of all the tubes and cords and swelling from the cooling therapy, we would like his first appearance to be a lasting one where he is healthy. I’ll just warn you that he is absolutely perfect in every way and I cannot wait to share him with you all. We have already received so so so many thoughts and prayers and messages, and we ask that you all continue to pray for our small town miracle baby. You all have been there every step of this journey and now is when I need you all the most to pray as hard as you can. I will be forever grateful. I don’t know when my next update will be, as I am recovering as well as be a momma to not only a baby in critical condition, but another little girl who needs her momma right now as well, but I will try to update toward the end of the week when I have a better grip on things."
