Blake Bellavance

Blake is a 7-year old Sylvan Laker who is currently undergoing treatment for his second battle with brain cancer. At the young age of 3, Blake was first diagnosed with a brain tumour and was not expected to survive the 7-hour surgery. Blake is not one to back down from a challenge and he not only walked away from that surgery, he blew everyone out of the water with his quick recovery! Blake is our little miracle!

Following that gruelling surgery, Blake was sent to Jacksonville, Florida for a specific radiation treatment that was not offered in Canada. Again, after treatment, Blake continued to amaze everyone with his lack of side effects, and beat all the odds!

After treatment, and a wonderful 4-years of being cancer-free, Blake and the family were devastated to learn a scan had shown tumour regrowth. A second surgery was quickly scheduled and Blake continued to surprise everyone with his recovery. After only 48 hours post-surgery, this little champ was going home! The surgery was successful and the tumour was completely removed but radiation was needed again.

Blake is currently with his family in Jacksonville, Florida undergoing this specific proton radiation treatment, as it offers him the best odds and least side-effects. Blake has treatment every day of the week, except the weekends. The family had a very short window to prepare for the journey to Florida. With only 4-days notice, Blakes's Dad and Grandpa started driving down to be sure the family had transportation. The rest of the family followed them by plane.

With not being able to earn a living for 3 months, the costs of providing shelter, basic needs out of the country, and travel costs are all adding up.

All proceeds from this Go Fund Me page will be relayed directly to Blake. Any money gathered will be put towards costs not covered by Alberta Health Care, living expenses, travel expenses, and future treatments that Blake may need. Every penny is for Blake.
