Blake Gibb

Hi my beautiful son Blake had a terrible accident on Lembongan Island where he slammed into a wall on a motorcycle for which he had a licence, suffering multiple breaks to his skull and traumatic damage to his brain, leaving him in a coma fighting for his life. After paying up front costs he was transferred to BIMC hospital by boat late at night. Once there he was put on life support and operated on. We as his parents managed to fly to him arriving just after his operations.

At this point he was given only a 5% chance of survival. The hospital was great and called in the Australian Medivac team and his insurance loaned us the money to pay the hospital and the Medivac team. He has survived so much so far including brain surgery just after arriving back in Australia.

They informed us 2 days ago that his claims were denied and we must pay them back. I've always made sure my family has insurance to cover these things. Now I'm wondering why. I'm thankful that they at least got him home and each day Blake is making a little progress but he has a long road ahead.

He has shown us he's a battler and is trying to communicate and stay positive. Today he is having facial reconstruction surgery and as a family we want to be able to focus on his recovery.
