EDIT: Its been a whirlwind 2 weeks, thus the initial ask for this GoFundMe was to cover Blake's upcoming travel hockey expenses (at the ask from Jasmine/Mom) however now their new reality of life begins. I have received numerous phone calls and emails asking how to help Blake and Jasmine...

Tragic events can instantly turn our lives upside down. We are now raising money to support Blake and Jasmine to help cover short term living expenses and bills after the unexpected death of Mark.

Dear Friends and Hockey Community,

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing to you on behalf of Blake Sutherlin who unexpectedly lost his father on Saturday, November 2nd.

Blake is my son's goalie partner on the San Jose Jr Sharks 13U AAA team, they have played with one another for a few years now. They have their own happiness in seeing each other succeed defending the net - its pure "Goalie Love" for one another.

The bond that kids have playing hockey is like no other, we have become "Hockey Family". Mark Sutherlin passed away while Blake was away at a hockey tournament doing what he loves. The entire team has been in shock, but Blake was still at practice this week - never skipping a beat!

This GoFundMe has been set up so that we can support Blake's mom with the upcoming costs of the remaining travel tournaments we have planned this 2024-2025 hockey season. Our current schedule: December-Detroit, January-Los Angeles & Scottsdale, and February-Boston.
