BLAM Projects ( inc. Free Black History sessions)
Donation protected
As a resident from Vassall Road for the past 22 years and a Community Activist, I am very aware of the obstacles faced by many Black children in the area. It is what prompted me to set up a charity called BLAM UK ( Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health). We aim to create a :
1. A more comprehensive and diverse education;
2. A safe space where their mental health and general feelings can be discussed; and
3. A place where young people can explore their interests and passions with consistent support from their local community.
4. An Advocacy support group for Black parents and students
We hope to do this by having Black history lessons throughout the year, we can enable children of African diaspora to feel appreciated, recognised and important. We use the teaching of Black history to better improve the wellbeing/ racial esteem of the children we work with. We do this alongside the running our other projects including- free Education Advocates for Black Parents in London. We also want to expand on the nature of our work and start leading on policy-driven work.
We want these services to be free at the point of use, for parents and young people and we need donations from people like you for this project to happen.
The donations will cover the core costs and projects costs of the projects listed above.
We need resources for the projects to run and any money you donate will be going towards ensuring BLAM UK runs all it active projects effectively.
So please give as much as you can !!
