Ochoa Family On Monday May 8th, as Blanca Ochoa age 46 was on her way to pick up her son Marco from Wiley Canyon Elementary she suddenly felt ill, had blurry vision and could no longer drive. Not knowing what to do she called her husband (Jaime Gonzalez Sr.) who advised her to call 911. The ambulance responded and transported her to a local hospital. Once some test were administered, doctors sent her home believing she only suffered a panic attack. Under doctors orders, she went home still not feeling well nor completely convinced she only suffered a panic attack.
The next afternoon, still feeling something was wrong, she asked her daughter Cynthia Ochoa to drive her to the hospital. Doctors preformed a CT scan and discovered that Blanca suffered a Posterior Cerebral Artery Stroke. Doctors were shocked of the previous missed diagnosis and told her that she was very fortunate to not have stayed home. Doctors advised her that she probably saved her own life by returning to the hospital as an acute second stroke could have taken her life.
She is currently recovering at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys with numbness to the left side of her body. She will be in the hospital rehabilitating for the next one to two weeks in an attempt to regain full mobility.
If you know Blanca she can not wait to get out of hospital and get back to work and help support her family. She works tirelessly everyday to make sure her sons Jaime and Marco make it to school and then soccer practice. She is always on the go. She is a great person who is always willing to help and volunteer at school functions all while working full time at Wha'Sub in Valencia.
Husband and daughter have been by her side and have missed work all week. As the medical bills will surely pill up, the family will need some assistance to help them get back on their feet. We the families of the Pateadores Soccer Club where Jaime and Marco play, are coming together to do our part and are asking the public's help in doing the same.
Thank you all for time and support.
