Blankets & Jackets for People in Rural Nepal

Hi, my name is Karen Jahnke and I am the Mission Ambassador for Inclusive Sports Club, a nonprofit based in Nepal. This formalized nonprofit is a beacon of hope in a country where no social services exist to serve the needs of those with disabilities and populations who are underserved.

I have been traveling to Nepal since 2016 and I quickly developed a love for the country and a connection to its people. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have trekked in several regions in the Himalayas and also enjoy urban adventures in Kathmandu.

The people of Nepal are kind, optimistic, and resilient. They live life simply with great reverence for the mountains. The terrain in Nepal is rugged and in rural areas, mountain trails are the primary pathways for moving goods.

The winter months in Nepal can be especially hard for those in rural areas where indoor heating is rare. One such area is the Sindhupalchowk District with a population of approximately 289,000.

Inclusive Sports Club serves the needs of communities in the Sindhupalchowk District by delivering warm blankets and jackets for the winter months to those in need.
