Blaze Hogan's Professional Golf Dream
I am starting a Gofundme to help raise money to pursue my dream of getting to the PGA Tour. I have recently qualified for the PGA LatinoAmerica Tour, which the season starts at the end of March. The Funds raised here will be used to pay for entry fees, hotel, travel, and practice fees that are associated with playing professional golf on a weekly basis.
Prior to turning professional, I noticed significant improvements in my golf game during my last season as an amateur. The improvement was displayed by qualifying for the US Amateur, The Michigan Open, and the Division II National Championship as an individual. I was Named PSAC golfer of the year my senior year. I claimed a 3rd place finish the Regional tournament to qualify for the National Championship. A month later I qualified for my 3rd Michigan Open, and which I was able to make the cut and place my second Top 30 in the event. In July, I qualified for the US Amateur at Avon Country Club by firing a 69-66 to finish second.
I measure success through the attainment of goals. It is a very simple and effective philosophy: I set goals for myself; when I achieve them, I set new, higher goals. Back in high school, everything I did was to achieve my goal of receiving a golf scholarship. When I was deciding which college to attend, I chose Owens Community College, Where I led the team to #1 ranking and a top ten at the NJCAA II National Championship. In my sophomore year I led the team in the fall with a 72.2 scoring average. I transferred to Mercyhurst University in the spring to finish my last two years of college golf. My senior year I had nine top five finishes, including four 1st place finishes. I was named conference player of the year. I was the first Mercyhurst golfer to qualify for nationals.
I am looking forward to the 2019 season, and I truly believe this could be my breakout year. This is an exciting time for me and I hope that you will consider donating to my dream of playing on the PGA Tour.
I will post updates on my Facebook page, as the season progresses.
