Help Blaze Walk Again!

BLAZE’S STORY

3/09 - My previous owners said I went outside to go potty and came back in unable to walk. We’re not sure of the real story/what happened, but my hind legs stopped working!

3/14 - My previous owner posts me on Facebook as a “come and get me” situation. I hadn’t been brought to a vet for my condition and they were no longer able to care for me.

3/15 - This stranger comes and picks me up after work and becomes my new Mom! She found out I come with no vet records because I had NEVER been before. Perks of night one: I got to meet my new doggy sister (#Slumberparty ) and Mom called her vet and got me their earliest appointment for Friday.

3/17 - We visit my doggy sister’s vet. It’s the FIRST time I had ever been. The doc tested my knee reflexes and they were good! Once they realized I could still feel “deep pain” in my back paws we were rushed to VERC, an emergency vet on island. They made me comfortable, gave my mom a pricey bill, and tucked me in for the night.

3/18 - I was supposed to get my hemilaminectomy (spine surgery) today first thing, but the surgeon wasn’t able to get to me. Mom got an update at 1pm saying “I should be hearing from the surgeon soon” and around 6pm saying there were “unforeseen circumstances” and that the surgery would be postponed until Monday morning.

3/20 - Surgery day! ‍⚕️ The MRI showed I had an acute disc rupture. Everything went well and the last update Mom received was that I was coming to after anesthesia. They’re going to keep me comfy and I might be able to go home tomorrow night and snuggle my people! ❤️
