Hello my name is Heather and I appreciate you taking the time to read about my friend Mandy Sturges and her family. Mandy and I have been friends for many years. Her and her significant other Billy have three amazing children Corbin (14), Brianna (11) and Asher (9). She is an avid community helper and supporter. She is involved whole heartedly in her children and everything they do. Mandy has volunteered her time, knowledge and man power to many organizations over the years. She jumps from one project to the next when a need is there and she is always there to lend a helping hand. Over the years she has been a volunteer at local schools in the classroom, PTO and education foundations for both Whiteland and Franklin Schools. She has volunteered for Girl Scouts as a Cookie Mom and troop leader. She is currently on the board for Whiteland Youth Baseball. She is a heck of a fundraiser chair if you need one. You might find her at the grocery store with Bri selling cookies to fund their next troop adventure, the concession stand supporting football, the bowling alley helping with the youth, baseball field running operations, front and center at one of the kids programs or the loudest in the stands.

This year has brought many trials for her and her family but she continues to push through with the grace of God. Back in April, Mandy had her first high blood pressure episode and was put on medication and told to take some off her plate, which if you truly know her, you know how that went. In one ear and out the other because she lives for her community and her passions. She is having several significant health concerns that they are still trying to find the answers for. She will be ringing in the new year with a sinus surgery in hopes that it will help with her congestion and hearing loss.

Shortly after Mandy's medical scares in the spring her youngest Asher was showing signs of fatigue, headaches and sleeping quite a bit. After discussing the symptoms with his pediatrician he was referred for a sleep study. He has recently been diagnosed with Central Apnea which is a scary and rare diagnosis for a 9 year old. His brain is not telling his body to breathe while he is sleeping. He has since followed up with a couple neurologists and also reestablished with the pulmonary team at Riley. They have run many tests including a brain scan and have still not been able to find what is causing the apnea. He still has more testing in the near future. Next step is to see specialists at Cincinnatti Childrens they are just waiting on the dates. As you know medical is not cheap and even after insurance and signing up for medical aid the bills are coming in with more to come.

Mandy was recently in a minor accident with cosmetic damage to her car. The car went into the shop to have this fixed and came out with severe mechanical damage that no one seems to claim to know how it happened. She is currently trying to deal with this. She has had to borrow vehicles just to get around here in town and to get the kids back and forth to school and events. This has made life more stressful and schedules a bit tighter. Unfortunately this car is not paid off so they are continuing to make payments on a vehicle that is sitting at the shop. They are not sure what is next. After moving Mandy's car from one shop to another Billy's truck went down on the way back to return the trailer he hauled her car with. Which has left them without a running vehicle.

I would like for them to breathe a bit easier by taking some of the financial burden off of them. Whether it be to buy some things for the kids for Christmas and some of their needs, provide groceries, pay current medical bills and the ones to come or help with their vehicle needs whether it be paying off the car and putting a motor in or finding a new reliable vehicle. This will be very important in the coming time when they need to travel to get answers for Asher.

Mandy has poured her heart and soul into everyone's lives. Now it is time for us to show her some love and fill her cup and take away some of the worry of the curve balls life has thrown at her. I know times are hard for all and this time of year is normally a bit tighter but every little bit helps and I am sure will be much appreciated by Mandy and her family. If you are not able to contribute financially, sharing with your family and friends would mean the world to helping Mandy lessen the stress and burden and focus more on her children and daily activities.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering supporting their family. Please share this page with your friends and family to help us spread the word. Your kindness and generosity during this time are deeply appreciated.
