Blessings for Brian Pastorini

On July 4th 2022, while the majority of us in this great country were celebrating Independence Day, my brother Brian Pastorini, essentially lost a large majority of his independence & mobility for at least the next several months.
Due to a freak accident, while trying to wrangle his 2 rambunctious dogs (one of which he only has b/c he was kind enough to take her in, when a friend could no longer take care of her). Brian ended up getting knocked over, tripping down the small set of stairs leading down to the bedroom in his home and landing on the tile floor, straight on his knees, basically “blowing out” both his legs/knees.
Brian was rushed to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital via ambulance that afternoon, where he was told that he had not only fractured a few bones in both legs/knees, but he had also shredded several important ligaments, and completely tore through BOTH the Patellar Tendons, leaving him completely immobile, unable to use either of his legs and would need extensive surgery within the next couple days to come.
Brian underwent surgery on Monday July 11th… with a lot of prayers, strength and the support of his friends & family… By the grace of God, he made it through without any major complications. He was released from the hospital yesterday, July 18th unable to return to his own home (as it is not currently handicap accessible) so he will be staying with my parents at their home a few miles away. It goes without saying that he is/was still in excruciating pain but is determined to make it through this faster & stronger than ever, no matter what it takes.
Unfortunately, at the time of the accident, Brian was in the process of transitioning to a new position with a different company and for the last couple months he did not have active medical insurance to help cover any these unforeseen expenses. The exact plan is still unknown at the moment. But at this time Brian is looking at extensive rehab for at least a year, as well as, a significant amount of medical debt for emergency care, surgery, hospital stay…
In addition to all the incurred medical bills & rehab, Brian will be unable to work for at least the next few weeks leaving him without an income as well… and we all know how quickly even just the small daily living expenses add up fast, mortgage, car payments, utilities, bills and so on……
Brian has a wonderful group of family & friends surrounding him & we are all desperately trying to do everything we can to help him through. We hate to see something like this happen to him… But we know that God Is working and we see the miracles coming. His faith is strong and Brian’s spirits remain optimistic helping carry him through this frightening and confusing time.
Brian is normally very independent and humble, has a heart as big as his sense of humor (which speaks volumes if you know him well) b/c let’s face it, when he’s not cracking jokes and making the entire room laugh, he’s usually “secretly” helping better the lives of the ones he loves in some other unconventional way. Brian is the type of man you know you can always count on, and is a blessing to so many around him … He is always one of the first to lend a hand when asked, he’s countlessly offered / donated money and/or help to those in need, heck he’d give you the shirt off his back if someone needed it more than him. (9 times out of 10 whatever shirt he has to offer will probably make you laugh too) lol!!
Our prayer is that with a little extra help from those of us that love him, Brian can recover with a little less stress in regards to some of the financial burdens mentioned above, at least for a little while. Brian is VERY PROUD and never asks for help from anyone. However, myself, our family and some of his other close friends, would like to help bless him with some additional assistance, as he is working to get back on his feet. (Literally)…
If you are willing & able and find it in your heart to want to contribute to these efforts, any amount will help. Please continue to keep Brian’s recovery in your prayers… Thank you all for your love and support during this time!
