Help for the Manning's Living and Medical Bills
Donation protected
My name is Donna Rutherford. I am reaching out to the community for assistance for some really good people who are struggling with health and financial issues right now. I am talking about Joel and Deedi Manning. We go way back to high school to a time when I needed help just getting from my house to school every day. Deedi went out of her way to pick me up and take me to and from school, even though it was several miles in the opposite direction. She is the most peaceful soul who would give you the shirt off her back. Deedi worked in healthcare for many years at both St. Francis Hospital and Greenville Memorial Hospital before becoming disabled in 2020. Joel was once a talented chef before his medical issues rendered him unable to work. Despite both Deedi and Joel having had their own health issues throughout their adult lives, they still managed to care for both of their ailing mothers through dementia and sickness until each had passed from this world. Joel is a gentle giant, who beneath his tough and gruff exterior- has the warmest heart. He has been in and out of hospitals, and just in the past year has been diagnosed with Afib, CHF, a stroke, and diabetes. He was scheduled for a heart cath this month, but it was canceled due to a sudden infection that landed him yet again in the hospital.
Although they never had children, they have their precious fur baby Chewy who now also requires expensive medication and daily shots to manage his diabetes.
The Mannings are without the luxury of living parents or immediate family to turn to for a helping hand. They struggle with paying their doctor and hospital bills, and have fallen behind on paying their house taxes. This puts them now at risk of losing their most vital possession, their home.
How many of us have ever been knocked down repeatedly, and have been unable to catch our breath or keep our head above water financially? It is a dark and hopeless place to be. But we can help by donating some of what we are blessed with. Even if it's just $1.00. Anything at all helps. Together we can demonstrate love and kindness to this couple, in hopes that it will lessen the stranglehold their financial burden has placed upon them. It could be any one of us at anytime, especially in this economy.
Thank you for your consideration.
