Help Blia Her’s family pay for cancer medical bill

Donation protected
Blia was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend who left us all too soon. She valiantly battled breast cancer and leukemia (acute myeloid leukemia - AML) for the past 3 years. Blia passed away on November 3, 2022 at the age of 48. She leaves behind her husband, Tou Fu Her, daughter Trinity (19), and son Uriah (13). She was very private in her battle but let nothing stop her from creating as much joy as she could in her children’s lives. When others would have happily made meals for her, she continued to coordinate team lunches for her daughter’s volleyball tournaments and cheered on the sidelines of her son’s football and basketball games. She hated to miss any of her children's events. We are raising funds to help her family pay for the extensive medical care she received throughout her cancer treatments.

Blia was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2019 and battled through chemotherapy and surgery for 10 months while still working full-time. Her family celebrated a healthy new start to 2020 only to discover 10 months later that she had luekemia. She aggressively fought AML at KU Medical Center and underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy and 2 sibling-matched stem cell transplants but discouragingly all those treatments were unsuccessful. With few options left, she sought cutting-edge treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.In January 2022, living 800 miles away from her children she optimistically entered a clinical trial. She returned in May to see her daughter walk across the high school stage to accept her diploma but went right back to Houston to continue treatment. Disappointedly in August 2022 she returned home to Kansas due to complications from her chemotherapy treatments. Blia and her family truly hoped she would return to MD Anderson to seek another clinical trial but sadly, Blia’s cancer overtook her body and she passed away surrounded by family and friends in her home.

The celebration of Blia’s life was held on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S Ridgeview Rd, Olathe, KS 66062
