Fly sick Children with Cancer in Hot Air Balloon

Introduction

Hello my name is Kevin ter Maat, and im the starter of this project! Together with a group of enthusiastic balloonists, who together with their crew, provide balloon flights from the Netherlands throughout the country. But with a group of other pilots we can share the balloon through the country, europe and the world! This will be a community thing!

We like to share our passion for ballooning with all our guests. That's how we got into a conversation with Bliss to Shine. This foundation fullfills the wishes of children who have to deal with cancer in their family on a daily basis. We want to take their thoughts away for a while and give them the day of their lives. Because every child deserves an unforgettable childhood.

We not only want to give them an unforgettable experience, but also a big smile on their face. And not only with them, but also with you and all those who make our new hot air balloon possible and who will see it.

Why dont use a excisting hot air balloon?

Because look at the design, it looks verry friendly and has it own style. If we take a normal balloon, people will just see a regular balloon with some branding on it. This will get more attention for the sickness cancer! Also for the family's and children with cancer, and get more peoples attention...

Who is Blissi?

Blissi is the cheerful mascot of Bliss to Shine Foundation, pictured in the photos. It is a white cartoon character with five rays on its head, shining like a sun. Each ray has its own color corresponding to a form of cancer.

The PLAN

So the plan is to have a balloon built from the Blissi with the money raised.

A balloon factory in England/France/Czech Republic/Spain will use this money and their knowledge to develop the balloon in the best possible way. The intention is that the balloon can take at least 3 adults and 2 children. As a result, it must meet a certain size. The Factory will use the construction drawings they made to see what the size should be. When the balloon is ready, families can sign up and we will schedule them for an unforgettable balloon ride. We will also try to organize international events so that we can also give these families with cancer an unforgettable day there.

If we still have money left over, or more money comes in than intended. Then that is not a problem at all, so we can maintain the balloon for years. We could also look at a normal balloon. Or to a remote-controlled mini hot air balloon from the Blissi. To promote the big balloon.

Balloon will be made out hyperlast, nylon and nomex (Fabrics) Steelcables, Nylon ropes for pulling parachute in top of the balloon. Rotation vents to rotate the balloon in mid air.

TIMELINE OF THE PROJECT

Here you can see the timeline of the project. It started with a funny facebook post under a picture of a hot air balloon event in the Netherlands. We got a picture of a mascott outfit from that moment i made the first artwork. This Artwork was made for the first visuals, but some visuals were not feeling right. So i decided to make a 3D model in the shape how i think its perfect... BUT IT IS PERFECT NOW! From that 3D model i made new artwork for the rewards. Rewards like a plush, pins, patches and many more. We decided to make certain gradings of the pins. We start with Silver, how much more you donate the different kind of pin yours will be. We have 3 gradings. One silver, gold and daimond. So then i was thinking... we need a video... but a reality video with people talking might have been boring. So i thought lets make a animation! So here it is in January, Ready to roll! Then hopefully we can start the project in January/February. In February its time to wait for the new visuals. After all the funds are raised... and the visuals are perfect its time to start building the balloon! And hopefully in the Summer of 2024 we can start flying the first families and children!
