BlizzCon Shirts Supporting Hong Kong
Donation protected
Blizzard will host Blizzcon , their annual gaming convention, in Anaheim from 10/31-11/2. We believe that it will send a powerful message to Blizzard if thousands of attendees collectively admonish Blizzard's capitulation to the Chinese government. We want to distribute hundreds of T-shirts , free of charge, to attendees so that they can peacefully support freedom of speech and the people of Hong Kong.
Once we reach our goal, all other donations will be sent to Human Rights Watch.
Background
Blizzard Entertainment is a gaming company that develops the popular online card game Hearthstone. Currently, Blizzard is hosting the Grandmasters tournament where the top players in the world compete for a $500,000 prize pool.
Chung Ng Wai a.k.a. "Blitzchung " during his post-game interview, called for Hong Kong's liberation while donning a gas mask. Blizzard responded by revoking Chung's prize money and banned him from e-sports participation for a year. In addition, the commentators were fired for their participation. Based on Blizzard's actions, there's no doubt that Blizzard caved to pressure from the Chinese government.
