BLOOD is an experimental movement-based play that depicts the origins of misogynoir in the Black family structure, where Black mothers “love our boys” and “raise our girls.”

BLOOD sheds light on the intersectional oppression in childhood where the disproportionate amount of responsibility placed on Sister (Melissa Barrow) has fractured her relationship with Big Brother (Michael Tomlin III). Though she has the love and support of Little Brother (Nick Allen), the friction from the inequality remains present as the three must navigate their relationships amongst each other without parental guidance.
