If you're reading this, chances are you're already a fan of Bloom Cafe and Listening Room. We love being part of downtown Bristol, and are honored to have been a part of the community for almost two years! When Bloom opened in 2017, we had very limited funding so we HAD to grow quickly and we have! We are very proud to still be open, and to still be serving our community. We are committed to giving you a place to be yourself; to eat fantastic food, drink the best coffee, and to enjoy a wide variety of shows and events.
Our priority is to update kitchen equipment we already have, and to purchase our own sets of sound equipment we have been borrowing until now.
Bloom has been very fortunate to borrow our current sound system, but we want to expand our horizons into ownership. But there are a couple of hitches to that; foremost, we do not have the space in our current budget to make room for this new equipment within the time-frame we need it. While we are not looking for anything extravagant, it is necessary that we purchase good-quality sound equipment to both accommodate the large space Bloom offers, and to make sure we can make it last! We would love for Bloom to not have to rent or borrow equipment like this ever again. With an updated, Bloom-owned sound system, we can both assure the continued quality of our shows and other music events, but Bloom can also take more time to consider other events, from themed bingo nights to bringing back fan-favorites like trivia night.
As for our kitchen. As most of you know, in May of this year Bloom made the shift to full service for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch. We are VERY thankful for how Bristol has received our food offerings and also our shift to full service, but due to the enthusiasm of our community, we are outgrowing our current kitchen space. Because of this, we need to create smarter storage space and purchase a prep cooler. If you’re a fan of our weekend brunch, you are well aware that things get pretty busy in here. But our limited kitchen space does not stop us from growing fast and improving every day, so to keep that growth strong we truly need to update our kitchen and its equipment.
But why crowdfunding? We have to be honest-you can’t borrow things forever, and Bloom will not have access to our borrowed sound system for much longer. We have a lot of events booked, planned, and in the works and in order to be a continued asset to Bristol, we need new equipment as soon as possible. As a small business, additional loans can be hard to run by and hitting our goal would let us be all that more self-sufficient-all because of the amazing Bristol community.
These changes are going to be things that contribute to a better, longer-term Bloom experience. But what about you? Do you get any payoff immediately? Yes! We want to offer some incentives for donating to our cause.
Tier 1: $1 donations will get you a “Thank You”.
Tier 2: $5 donations will get you a hug from a Bloom staff member.
Tier 3: $10 donations will get you a Bloom sticker and a Bloom hug.
Tier 4: $25 donations will get you a free drink voucher, bloom sticker, and a Bloom hug.
Tier 5: $50 donations will get you a free meal at brunch, a free drink voucher, a Bloom sticker, and a Bloom hug.
Tier 6: $100+ donations will get you a bag of Heart coffee, a free meal at brunch, a free drink voucher, a Bloom sticker, and a Bloom hug.
