Blue Velvet's Balloon

Hello! We are April and David, and our dog Jester. We are truck drivers, owner operators, small business owners. We are raising money to finish paying off our semi truck, Blue Velvet, which is our home, our job, our only source of income. We've been paying weekly payments since the Summer of 2019, and now we're getting to the end of the lease with a $20,000 balloon payment due by May 26th, 2023. We have about $8,000 saved, and have tried saving more over the last year and more but, with all that has been going on in the world for the last three years, and specially the last year, it's been more difficult to make enough money to be able to pay our monthly bills AND save money. Fuel prices have gone up, way up, and the rates for the loads we haul have gone way down. We're quickly running out of time and options. We really don't want to have to start all over with paying for a new truck, which would mean turning our current truck in and paying for it to be returned to original spec after we've been in it almost four years.
