Leonardo's Notebooks

A few weeks ago, we had a workshop about Leonardo da Vinci - specifically, about his sketches and notebook. The way his brain worked was fascinating, and his notebook illustrated this with all the patterns and algorithms he used. The notebooks were especially interesting to us, and we decided that we would each appreciate our own personalized leather notebooks. We found out that there was someone who made notebooks (Northbound Notebooks)  relatively close to us, and that is how project notebook started.





The notebooks will serve as a tool for the learners in recording their creative process (ideation, thoughts, impressions, observations, etc). They are encouraged to do so in the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci  whose own notebooks  played a crucial role in his creative works.

Blue Sky School  is an independent not-for-profit school in Kanata South (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). We are “the experimental prototype school of tomorrow”  and nurture the next generation of changemakers by believing that young people can change the world and giving them the opportunities and exposure to do so. We are a community who accepts one another and are all on equal footing despite age and ability to learn.
