Blundeston Children’s Play Park
Donation protected
Blundeston Children’s Play Park has been enjoyed by children from the village and the surrounding area for many years.
Sadly, as many of you are aware, the park is in desperate need of renovation. The central play tower has been condemned and fenced off for quite some
time and the zip wire is currently out of order.
Blundeston Parish Council have sourced quotations for a complete renovation of the play area. The cost of replacing the play equipment and providing safety flooring is looking to be between £65,000 and £75,000. It is hoped that if funding is secured, work could begin in the spring of 2023.
The Parish Council have been looking at sourcing funding from community grants and have found that sadly, the play park doesn’t qualify for many of them. They are currently waiting to hear from funders such as The National Lottery, but even these contributions won’t cover the entire cost of the play park. It really is a case of every little helps!
Growing up in Blundeston and raising my family here means that I know only too well the strength of the community spirit within the village. I also know just how desperately the families of the village want to see the play area restored to its former glory. Therefore, after discussion with the Parish Council at the most recent meeting (21st November), I have decided to open this crowd funder. I know that times are tough but I’m sure that if the families of the village and the surrounding areas who love and use this park all contribute just a little, together we can raise a healthy chunk of money to put towards its renovation.
