Spinal Fusion Surgery & Recovery

Donation protected
**UPDATE 8/03/2023**

Today I am one day shy of one month post-op of my spinal fusion surgery. First of all, I would like to thank any of you who donated, whether it have been money, prayers, or just kind words. It has all made a great difference and been a huge help. I am now able to walk without the walker , and I had all of my staples removed. I still have to wear a brace and do not have full range of motion in my back. I am still restricted from driving, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing , or pulling which makes normal day to day activities have been much more difficult. Also due to that , I will not be able to return to work until October 4th. Even though we are forced to take a time-out, bills and responsibilities know no barriers. All I ask is to donate what you can or even if you could repost this link anywhere so it could have a further reach. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!!

UPDATE 7/12/2023
John is finally home! Prior to discharge his JP drain was removed. On POD#5 his dressing was removed only to reveal 32 staples! He will being doing in home PT and OT. Praise God he is having better pain control. He is able to use his brace to sit up for meals, walk short distances with walker to the bathroom with contact guard. Still having some weakness and tingling sensations in the lower extremities. He had a lot of nerve damage from the herniated discs that caused weakness, loss of sensation, and urinary/bowel issues.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued prayers and support. My brother is extremely touched by all the people who have come alongside him. Please continue praying for his recovery, specifically for no further nerve damage, for his follow up appointment, financial assistance, and for his girlfriend Tania who is literally the best nurse/mama/sister/friend. Pray that God would sustain her as she takes on the caregiving role. Please also pray that my brother would stay encouraged, as these kind of injuries tend to take a toll on one’s mental state and can become very discouraging. Thank you again!

Please help my brother and his family endure this difficult time. His current hospitalization & emergency surgery has put a financial burden on their family.

My brother was hospitalized last week with weakness, inability to stand/walk & in severe pain to his back and lower extremities. MRI showed two herniated discs L3-L4 putting a lot of pressure on his nerves. He was then consulted to Neurosurgery and had to be transferred to another hospital. He had his surgery on July 4th, to include laminectomy, spinal fusion with rods and screws. He has strict movement restrictions and will be unable to bend, lift or twist for the next several weeks until his body heals.

This hospitalization and emergency surgery has put him out of work for several weeks possibly months, on top of the medical bills they are accruing while he is hospitalized. Together they both work full time to support their 3 children on an already tight income. The unforeseen circumstances has put a lot of stress on them financially and my brother has worked so hard so be where they are now.

Please join me in prayer for my brother and his family as they being the road to recovery. If you’re able to support them financially we would be so grateful.
